In the matchup versus MD #1 and MD #2 in Maria Coffin of Annapolis and Hayley Jackson of Patuxtent, the race lived up to the hype with two ridiculous times of 17:23 for winner Coffin and 17:40 for runner-up Jackson. Jackson had started to pull away from Coffin at start of second mile, but Coffin rallied back for the win over the defending 2A state champion.
The Loyola-Blakefield boys won as expected with a 1-3 finish from Frankie Legambi and Kenny Rowe with Legambi winning over Northern Calvert's Matt Bennett (sub 16 for runner-up) in 15:47. The Northern Calvert girls were bit of a surprise in winning the team title with Howard girls taking second and Mount St. Joseph's boys as runners-up.
