#1 Blacksburg Girls
What do you get when you have six girls under 19:00 on a single team? What you should get is very scared. This year's Bruin squad has a complete new look and a reignited desire to win this year. Though they tied the VHSL record last year for fewest points scored en route to back-to-back team tittles, this year could be even better. They have the most talented depth, the smallest spread between 1-5 amongst the top teams, and a huge margin when it comes to average time (they average 18:29)!
With head coach James DeMarco stepping down this season it is no surprise to see these girls and their boys team too really focusing on this season. It also makes a lot of sense now that Coach DeMarco returned for this last season considering the very special group they have.
If all that wasn't enough here are the grades for their top 6 runners who have all broke 18:50 this year: Junior - Freshman - Junior - Senior - Sophomore - Freshman. This team is scary and it unfortunately looks like they are going to remain awfully scary for years to come.
