Western Albemarle sophomore Ashley Early who last year did not even compete in track during the indoor season as she was a cheerleader has quickly made her way up to the top of the ranks in the state in pole vaulting after her performance at Lake Braddock, where she cleared a personal best of height of 11-0, which is also a state best mark. In the process, Early defeated last year's AA state indoor champion in the pole vault, Randi Lawson of Appomattox, who finished second in the event with a personal best height as well at 10-3.
