In lane 3, Bethel sophomore Francena McCorory is a step ahead of the field with a good start in the girls' 55 meter dash. With her winning clocking of 7.13, McCorory now has the state's fastest and nation's sixth fastest time.

Clearing the second to last hurdle in lane 4, Lakeland's Andrea Wheeler as a slight lead over her competitors in the girls' 55 meter hurdle finals. Over the final hurdle cleanly, Wheeler secures the win as she crosses the line in a time of 8.54 as she narrowly defeats Brooke Point's Chadnee Green (8.57).
Girls' 4x200m Relay Girls' 4x200m Relay
Bethel's Britni Spruill and Manchester's Carmenta Mitchell battle it out early in the opening leg of the girls' 4x200 meter relay. In the second leg, Bethel begans to build a lead on Manchester with freshman Essence Roberts.

Through the third leg, the Lady Bruins are still going strong in the lead with another freshmen in Crystal Carrington. 55 meter dash winner earlier, McCorory brings home the win for Bethel in a time of 1:46.5. Kelly Keener anchors Manchester in for a second place finishing time of 1:48.3.
Girls' 4x800m Relay Girls' 4x800m Relay
In an exciting battle in the girls' 4x800 meter relay, Western Albemarle and James River hand off to their anchor legs neck and neck with Tasmin Fanning of Western Albemarle being given a slight lead over Rebecca Ward of James River after the final exchange. Fanning is able to hold off Ward's attempts to pass through out the 800 meter relay legs as Western Albemarle takes the win in 10:11.4 with James River close behind at 10:11.9. Fanning and Ward both roughly were split at 2:26 each.

In the fast heat of the girls' 500 meter run, Bethel's Megann Lawrence gets out the quickest as she is front at the break point. Going into the final lap, Lawrence has a sizable lead, but Western Albemarle's Tasmin Fanning, coming back from the 4x800 earlier, is making a run for her.

Rolling off the final turn, Fanning swings wide to overtake a fading Lawrence. Fanning hits the line in a winning time of 1:20.84 as Lawrence takes runner-up honors at 1:21.77.

The competitive field is lined up for the girls' mile run, which is also considered as a Milrose Mile qualifier event. The runners break into the first turn.

Jumping to the lead early and setting a hard pace is Fauquier's Sarah Bowman. Leading for much of the first half of the race, Bowman is challenged in the second half by Christiansburg senior Kirsten Hagen and Potomac School freshmen Michaeline Nelson.

Bowman fades from the lead, while Hagen tries to hold off the rising star that is Michaeline Nelson. Hagen takes the win in a time of 5:12.7, while Nelson finishes not far behind in at 5:13.1. Both Hagen and Nelson have to be given strong consideration by the Milrose Mile selection committee after their strong times posted on the 160 meter track at FUMA.
