James Wood boys and North Stafford girls rule at Loriella Park

FREDRICKSBURG, VA -- The James Wood boys and North Stafford girls blew away the competiton at the Chancellor Invitational held on the challenging 5K course at Loriella Park in Fredricksburg.

The James Wood boys finished well ahead of second place Colonial Forge as they placed four runners in the top eight to finish with a total of 42 points.

The Colonial Forge boys placed second with 103 points, mainly due in part to sophomore Michael Porter's second place finish as he came across the line in 17:28. Finishing ahead of Porter and winning the race was Spotsylvania's Dustin Bartley who finished in a time of 17:23.

The North Stafford girls were able to place three runners in the top ten as they were led by Kristyn Shiring's second place finish with a clocking of 20:36.

The girls' individual winner was Colleen Connell of Brooke Point who won in an excellent time of 20:17, especially considering the difficulty of the Loriella Park course.
