The Battlefield District and James Monroe girls are led by two Rebecca's in Rebecca Clemo and Rebecca Fisher. Clemo is the defending district cross country champion and both runners had high finishes at the state meet last November with Clemo taking 19th and Fisher in 27th in the Group AA race. However, the district team title will still go through the Chancellor girls who return six All-District runners.
The returning boys champion is also at James Monroe Daniel Ache took first at the Battlefield District Meet last year only as a sophomore. Ache's district champion James Monroe squad from 2007 lost several All-District team members, which makes the 2007 district runners-up from Chancellor as the pre-season favorites led by Region I 500 meter dash champion Alex Hinton.
