When you run 18:11 at Albemarle you deserve a lot of attention especially when you follow that up with a 17:49 the next week at MileStat.com's Invitational. Jodi Tolarchyk did just that last year and that put her right on the map of the VA XC scene. This year though she isn't entering as a unknown, she is entering as a favorite for the 5A state title.

Despite a great XC regular season last year, Jodi fell short of her ultimate goal of winning that XC state title. That loss coupled with her speed means we are in for a show this season with her new found drive and confidence. She has one state title (indoors 3200) to her name but that XC one is the one she wants.
Now knowing what she is capable of doing don't expect any flashy performances until late in October and into November. She may be sneaky for most of the season but trust us, she is the real deal and that is why we are ranking her fourth in our preseason state-wide rankings.
