On Tuesday we caught up with the Loudoun Valley (Virginia) boys team for a workout on their home cross country course in Franklin Park.
After the workout, we talked with coaches Marc and Joan Hunter about how the workout went, if there were any pressures on being nationally ranked, and about the transfer of Sam Affolder, who previously attended Carlisle High (Pennsylvania) and is ranked No. 15 on our preseason Flo50 boys rankings.
"He fit in so well with this group of boys," Marc said.
"They've hung out all summer and done things together and it's good . . . it's a good team," Joan added.
"They've nicknamed themselves the 'boys of summer' . . . even though that's a baseball analogy. It's amazing how he's fit right in," Marc said.
