In other field events, Davion Lambert leaped 24-10 in the long jump for a second place mark. With this weekend's mark, Lambert qualified for IC4A's, NCAA Regional Meet and USATF Junior National Meet this spring. The NCAA Regional meet will be held in Gainsville, Fla., while the Junior National will be in Buffalo, N.Y. Tony Saltmarsh placed third in the high jump with a measurement of 6-0.75.
Juron Williams placed second in the 100-meter run with a time of 10.80. Teammates James Frierson (10.83) and Eric Coleman (10.88) followed on Williams' heels, finishing third and fourth, respectively. Frierson also finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.94. Both Williams and Frierson qualified for IC4A's in the 100-meter dash.
In the 800-meter run, Daniel Ndungu (1:56.10, 2nd) and Lee Withers (1:58.17, 3rd) finished among the top three.
The men's squad will participate in the Raleigh Relays next weekend. The track and field team will also be seen competing at the tri-meet at Sports Backers Stadium on Sunday, Mar. 28, against Richmond and William & Mary.
