This season has been a rough one for Heather Holt. After making Foot Locker Nationals and winning her second state XC title as a junior she was ready for a huge senior year. Things though don't always play out as you had imagined. For Heather that meant a few nagging injuries throughout the season and little to no racing.
That all changed this past week and it was certainly a big one for Heather. Not only did she make her return to the XC course in victorious fashion but she also announced she will continue her student-athlete career at NC State University.
The Wolfpack is getting one of the nation's best runners and soon to be a nearly 10-time state champion. There she will make an immediate impact in a program that just won their second ACC title in a row and 23rd overall.
Running wise things are also looking good for her right now. This past week (10/26) she went on to run a solid 18:03 for the win in the National District Championships at Burke Lake Park. Though it is certainly not her best time there, it does us that she is racing again and potentially ready to shakeup the entire VA XC scene. Stay tuned this week as she toes the line against VA #1 Olivia Beckner.
