THE PLAINS, Va. - State meet management along with the VHSL decided Monday afternoon that the state meet course would be closed Thursday. Friday's course preview is to be determined. Teams will still be able to come and purchase t-shirts but will not be allowed on the course at all. Athletes will however be able to run on the gravel roads.
As of this time there are no other changes to the schedule or race course.
Look for MileStat's course preview though Thursday morning!
"Please note that the course at Great Meadow is CLOSED for practices (including running and walking) on Thursday, November 8th due to current course conditions from recent rainfall. Meet management is working to prepare and preserve course conditions for competition on Friday and Saturday." - VHSL League Office
The main area of concerns is the area near the rocks. It is not entirely out of possibility either that meet management will change the "S" loop here for Saturday's competition. That will of course depend on the course's condition after competition Friday.
