4. Drenda Hess - Clark County, SR
PR - 2:27.94
This Clark County senior has not done much in her career besides run the 800, but her 2:27.94 personal best makes her one of the top contenders in Class 2 this spring. She was 9th in 2017, but with so many seniors graduating, watch for her to make a huge leap into the top 5 at state in 2018.
3. Jayda Buchannon - Maplewood-Richmond Hts., SR
PR - 2:24.62
Buchannon grabbed 8th in last year's 800 and benefits from the graduation of five seniors ahead of her. Buchannon's 2:24.62 is one of two career races under 2:25, but with he 26/59 speed and another cross country season under her belt, Buchannon has a shot at going top 3 this spring and could compete for even more.
