Jason Cook, a 2004 graduate of Brentsville High School, is now a NCAA All-American in the shot put at the University of South Carolina and throws the 16 pound shot well over 60 feet. However, Cook's specialty was the discus in high school with a personal best throw of 172 feet and 10 inches as well as the 2004 Group AA state title in the event. Cook's second best high school mark came in that outdoor state championship at 168'2".
Cook is now teamed up with another MileStat.com All-Decade thrower down in Columbia with former E.C. Glass star and past AAA state champion Mike Zajac as an All-American performer in the weight throw. Cook is ranked #9 among top performances this past decade by Virginia high school discus throwers.
