
Lindsay Neuberger is the only thrower, male or female, to have won a high school national title this past decade in the throws. As a senior at Cox High School in Virginia Beach, Neuberger won the shot put national title at the 2002 Nike Indoor Nationals. Neuberger with a high school best of 49'6.25" is the undisputed top shot put thrower of the decade. In her high school career, Neuberger would claim four state titles in the shot put and also was a two-time state champion in the discus with a best of 137'2".
She represented the United States on the 2001 World Youth Team which traveled to Hungary for competition. Neuberger holds the Virginia high school state indoor shot put record at 48'4.75" and was only a few inches off setting the state outdoor record with her senior year Beach District Meet performance of 49'6.25". Tracey Toon of Menchville holds the state outdoor record since 1982 at 49'9".
