1) What was your greatest moment while competing in high school?

I actually have two, both my senior year - qualifying for and running the 5,000m at New Balance Indoor Nationals and finishing runner-up in the 3200m at Class 4 Outdoor States. Running at the Armory was an incredible experience, and I had a great race (at least for me).  Taking the lead with 800m to go at States, I felt like I really had a chance to win.  But, there is no shame losing to Natalie Morris.  I ran a smart, tactical race - the best 3200m I ever ran.  And, it was the best time to do it - my last meet in high school!

2) What is your biggest regret (related to T&F in high school) or what would you have done differently and why?

My biggest regret has to be having to run XC State Championships at Great Meadow!  For some reason, that course had my number.  It was my biggest nemesis.  I definitely ran better at harder courses, but for some reason, I just never ran my best there.

3) What will you miss the most about HS T&F/XC?

I will definitely miss my teammates.  I am a pretty shy person, and seem like a loner, but there is nothing better than achieving things as part of a team.  I made it to XC States my freshman year as an individual qualifier, and it was horrible.  I told my dad I never wanted to do that again.

4) What is some advice from incoming frosh and rising seniors on your high school team that you would like to share with them?

To achieve your goals, you need to work hard - even outside of practice.  Consistency is key.  The extra work you do will pay off in the end.

5) What was the hardest workout you did your entire high school career?  Did you like it or did you dread it?

I hate 600m repeats! I dreaded them.

6) How did you make track/XC a very individual sport into more of a team sport?

I always put the team's needs ahead of my own.  I would always run my hardest in relay events, even if it meant running terribly in individual events later in the meet.  The experience at States is awesome, and I wanted as many of my teammates to get a chance to share in it - especially those who wouldn't necessarily have qualified in their individual events.  I wouldn't go back and change that for the world.

7) Finally, what are your college plans?  Will you be competing in college, where?  What do you plan on studying?  What do have as career plans?

I will be competing in college for Waynesburg University.  I am really excited.  Coach Hardie has brought in a great freshman class adding to an already strong group of returnees.  We should be very good!  I will be studying Marine Biology.  Yes, even in Western PA - there is water everywhere!
