Team VA has officially invaded PA. The Villanova women won the NCAA Division 1 Mid-Atlantic Regional on a rain soaked Penn State course this past Saturday led by two former Virginia high school stars in Rachel McArthur of Patriot High School and Caroline Alcorta of West Springfield High School. The pair running now for Villanova University had gone 1-2 together at the Big East Championships two weeks prior (Alcorta 1st, McArthur) and nearly duplicated the same feat at the NCAA Regionals with the sophomore McArthur winning the race followed by the senior Alcorta in 3rd to lead their squad to a decisive regional team title.
