It wasn't a freshman stealing the show at VISAA States, it was an 8th grader! That 8th grader was Norfolk Christian's Micayah Holland who put on a show with her win in the 55m dash.
Micayah's winning time in the event (video above) was 7.28. That time was the fastest time in VISAA since 2011. Only Shantell Bingham of Episcopal went faster with her 7.12 to win the state title, her time was also the state meet record which makes Micayah's the second fastest in meet history as well.
Her time also ranks as the fastest time this season in the 55m dash nationally for 8th graders.
