NATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

Blacksburg(VA) girls demonstrated why they are ranked US #10 with a dominant display in their first meet of the season.  Blacksburg had 5 runners in the top-10 and finished with a total score of 27 points.

Futsum Zeinasellasse, North Central High School(IN), cruised to an easy victory in his 2009 XC debut at the Brebeuf Prep XC Invitational with a time of 15:50.20.  Futsum was 7th at Footlocker Nationals last year as a frosh.

 

 

Wesley Frazier, Ravenscroft(NC), (Photo by Chris Watters) has put herself on the national map with a 17:49 on a tough dual meet course this week.  More details to come, but early reports indicate the course was legit.

 

American Fork(UT) breaks into the all-time total team time list at the Grass Relays. The total team time of 53:39 over the 2 mile course is 4th behind three National Championship Mountain View teams and ahead of two other top 10 nationally ranked Bruin squads.

 

Kirubel Erassa, Grayson(GA) didn't waste any time proving he belongs with the country's best, running a 14:59 to win the Bob Blastow Early Bird Invitational, with the help of a brisk 4:25 first mile.
