Noah Lyles Wins World Title In 200m Dash!

T.C. Williams High School graduate and adidas professional athlete Noah Lyles is your new IAAF World Athletics champion at 200 meters.

His winning time in Doha, Qatar, was 19.83 seconds, with a reaction time of 0.168 seconds.

Though this is undoubtedly a huge win for Lyles, it is only the start of what should be an illustrious career, both with adidas and Team USA. Really, it is only step one for him.

Lyles will also be racing in the 4x100m relay from October 8-9--if he runs both rounds. His teammates for that race have yet to be announced, but rival Christian Coleman is definitely one of them. Justin Gatlin is also expected to be on that team.

The next big step for Noah will be 2020 and making his first Olympic team. He came close in 2016 as a high school senior with his 4th place finish at the trials. Next year though, he is not only trying to make his first Olympic team but to make history as well.

Comparatively speaking, Lyles is on pace to break Usain Bolt's world records and arguably make a case for himself as the fastest and greatest sprinter ever. Yes that is a big statement but remember that Lyles is the exact same age Bolt was in 2007 when he won his first World title.

The only difference is Lyles has already run faster in the 100, 200, 300, and 400 compared to Bolt.
