Bethel will be back to defend both titles

FORK UNION, VA -- Last year's team champion from both the girls' and boys' competition will be back at the FUMA Invitational. Once again Eddie Williams will bring his powerful Bethel Bruins to the famed Estes Athletic Center where this year they will wear the crown of defending champions.

While the Bethel girls had little trouble last year winning the team title, the boys had to rally in the last event to beat both Atlee and host Fork Union. Going into the 4x400, Fork Union held the lead thanks to a 3200 win by Keino and a pole vault win by Andrew Kessler. The Bruins garnered a fourth place in the event and FUMA failed to score. The four points were just enough to hold off Atlee, which finished third in the event and tied FUMA for second.

The meet is still nowhere near the 1000 athlete cap but entries continue to trickle in. The FUMA Invitational boasts new awards this year and Hy-tek scoring. Stay tuned to MileStat.com, the official web site of the FUMA Invitational, for more details.
