Collegiate Boys Bring Home 1st State Team Title

It was a true team effort for Collegiate as they won their first VISAA state team title indoors. They scored a very solid 106 points while only winning three individual events. The rest of their points were scored the old-fashion way with everyone stepping up to make history happen.

By our count, with relays included, they had 15 guys score points Saturday and they needed every single one. From Liam Bellamy's triple in the 1600, 500, and 1K to Donald Adams running the best 300 of his life... every point mattered.

This team has been working hard for four years now to finally break through. Leading up to this weekend the Cougars had finished 3rd (2019), 4th (2018), 3rd (2017), and 4th (2019 Outdoors) as a team.

Their only winners of the meet were Liam Bellamy in the 500m dash, Alfred Stratford in the high jump, and Donald Adams in the long jump.

St. Christopher's School finished second just eight points behind them with 98 points. Woodberry Forest was third with 61, FUMA finished fourth with 58, and Virginia Episcopal was fifth with 40 points.
