Heritage Jumpers Leap Ahead Of Everyone At States

The Heritage (Lynchburg) jumpers put on an absolute clinic at the Class 3 State Championships. These ladies scored a huge 20 points in the long jump, 21 in the high jump, and 23 in the triple jump. Those sixty four points would have alone scored them enough points to finish second overall as a team.

One of those jumpers, Alaysia Oakes, went on to win the 55m dash and 300m dash as well. She also ran on their victorious relay team. She was their top scorer of the weekend and the top scorer of the entire state meet week(end). In total she tallied up 40.25 points as an individual.

Oakes was not the only scorer of big points for Heritage though, her jumping partner Tya Blake scored an additional 25.25 points. They were both then joined by Victoria Johnson and Dekaila Dillard who went 1-2 in the high jump.

In total the Heritage girls went 1-2 in all three jumping events and also scored a sixth place in the high jump and fourth place in the tripe jump as well.

These ladies' state meet performance may go down in history as one of the most impressive performances by a group of jumpers at one single state meet.
