After running a 2:12 PR for the 800 meter run in a time trial a few weeks ago, Midlothian High School (VA) junior Caroline Bowe stepped back on the track to test her fitness while she trains thru the coronavirus shutdown of high school track in Virginia and elsewhere to go for another PR but this time at 1600 meters.
Bowe once again had 2020 US Olympic trials top 15 finisher Kiera D'Amato to help pace her throughout the time trial as they went thru 400 meter splits of 75, 72, 74, 75 to finish with yet another PR in difficult times with a 4:56.8 performance.
Bowe had a prior personal best of 5:10 for the full mile from this past indoor season as she went onto be the Class 5 state runner-up in the 1600, while a first time state champion in the 1000 meter run. So a remarkable 14 second drop from her best performance this past indoor season in her time trial on Friday, May 8th.
