North Hills senior Ian Fitzgerald added more gold to his outdoor trophy case, winning the prestigious Golden West Invitational 2-mile run in 9:02.63. Frances Koons, racing against several of the nation's best this spring, finished 3rd in 4:47.90. The race was won by Plano, TX junior Erin Bedell in 4:43.71. Foot Locker national XC champ Katelyn Kaltenbach of Smoky Hill, CO was 2nd in 4:45.97. And the top US 1600 meter time (until this race)
Alicia Follmar of Saratoga, CA, was 4th in 4:48.84. PA AAA Javelin state champ Ruby-Lynn Radocaj of Williamsport, was 3rd in with a throw of 146-05. 1st was 150-06. Radocaj won the AAA State title with a PIAA AAA record throw of 158-00. And Hickory senior Andrew Rademacher no-heighted in the Pole Vault.
