Lakeland boys do some damage in Maryland

PRINCESS ANNE, MD - The Lakeland boys were the only team from Virginia present at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Invitational at the Hytche Athletic Center, but they may have done the most damage out of any team at the meet.

In the 55 meter dash, Lakland went 1-2 with Michael Cross (6.62) and William Baker (6.63). Tavaris Mitchell also had a solid performance for the squad taking 4th in the 300 meter dash (37.18). Everrett Richardson also was a big surprise in the high jump as he won the event with a leap of 6'04.00". Deandre White stole the show for the squad though as he clocked the second fastest time in the state in winning the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 7.53.

The Lakeland relay squads performed well also. The 4x200 was victorious (1:33.29), while the 4x400 took 2nd (3:36.42).
