Albemarle Invitational Information

Hello to all those who will be coming to Panorama Farms from almost all parts of the State except Southwest Virginia. I love to visualize all these yellow school buses converging onto one xc course from different parts of Virginia, great kids running their hearts and going back home to get up on Sunday morning to run again. We are lucky to have this great course to showcase about 45 schools
and 1700 athletes.

The meet schedule has been on Milestat since July but here is some info to help make the meet and your trip go more smoothly. Because UVA has a Homecoming football game at 3:30pm against Indiana, i would recommend getting to Panorama early. Most of the stadium traffic exits I-64 at exit 118B. If you are coming from the east on I-64, take exit 124 (Shadwell) and get on 250 bypass West until you hit Hydraulic Rd. Cross RTE 29 on Hydraulic and stay on Hydraulic past Albemarle HS. Continue on Hydraulic and take a LEFT onto Earlysville Rd. Go over the Reservoir and continue about 2 miles and turn LEFT onto Panorama Farms RD. Follow to end of road which enters the farm.
If you are coming on RTE 29 FROM the North, take a RIGHT on Airport rd and go to traffic circle in front of airport. Go 270 degrees around the traffic circle and follow that road past the south end of the runway. Take another 270 degree turn at the next traffic circle and you will be heading south on Earlysville Rd. Turn RIGHT onto Panorama Rd until it enters the farm. Parking will be $5 per car, so carpool if you can.

1. The road into the farm will be one way until most of the cars are parked. You will not be allowed to enter the farm and drop off a runner and then be able to exit the farm. Drop passengers off outside of the farm entrance, turn around and drive back down Panorama Farm Rd. Passengers dropped off can walk into the farm or get a ride with a car heading to the parking lot. Coaches please PASS THIS INFO TO PARENTS WHO PLAN ON DRIVING.

3.Buses will have a designated parking area.

2. Coaches should pick-up their packets and check their athlete list and numbers.

3. Free food tickets will be in your packet for head coach as well as assistant.

4.  Snack bar and t-shirts will be available.

5. Dr. Bob Wilder and his medical staff will be available as well as an Albemarle trainer.

6. Award ceremony will begin near the finish line 15 minutes after the last race finishes.

7. Individual medals to TOP 15 in VARSITY, TOP 10 in JV and TOP 5 in MIDDLE SCHOOL RACE.

8. Team trophies to WINNING TEAM AND RUNNER-UP IN VARSITY and WINNING JV AND MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAMS.   TOP 7 RUNNERS ON TOP 3 VARSITY TEAMS RECEIVE TEAM MEDALS.

9. Pizza can be ordered and delivered to teams after the races.

10. Charlottesville Traffic should not be bad after the meet as the
game football game will go to 6:30 or later.

11. If you want to use Google maps/directions use zip code 22936
(Earlysville, va.)
