This past weekend at the Doc Hale Elite Meet (at VT) four Hokies etched their names on one of the most prestigious lists in track and field, the sub-four group. They were also the top four collegiate finishers with just one attached runner finishing ahead of them.
The impressive thing isn't just that they broke four but that they all did so for the first time and that all four runners ran individually in the state of Virginia in high school too.
Results from this weekend:
Bashir Mosavel-lo ran for Deep Run, Benjamin Nibbelink ran for Tuscarora, Benjamin Fleming ran for Blacksburg, and Antonio Lopez ran for Colgan. All together they amassed just five state titles in high school and owned PR's in the 1600 of 4:11 (Nibbelink), 4:13 (Bashir), 4:14 (Lopez), and 4:19 (Fleming).
These performances are just another example of what VT is able to do with the talent they recruit and also how times in high school do not limit your collegiate success.
