Junior stars Tatu and Keino selected to elite field

NEW YORK, NY -- The premier high school mile race of every indoor track season, the Millrose Mile held at the Madison Square Garden in New York, will feature two of Virginia's finest in juniors Alex Tatu of Thomas Dale and Kippy Keino of Fork Union. Tatu and Keino recently squared off last weekend at the CNU Showcase where Tatu was victorious with his time of 4:17. Keino finished with a personal best time of 4:20. Tatu was a state cross country champion this past fall and clocked a 4:14 1600 last spring. This past weekend, Keino ran another personal best as he beat Foot Locker All-American to win the 3200 at the FUMA Invitational in 9:19. The two juniors will be joining a very elite field that consists of many All-American athletes.
