Longtime distance and XC coach, Berni Flynn is retiring following the Class 6 state meet this weekend. Coach Berni, as she is known by many, will be moving down to Florida to enjoy her retirement.
Her retirement from Thomas Edison high school comes after 17 years as the XC and distance coach. Prior to her time at Edison she was an assistance coach elsewhere in the Northern Region.
As a coach, Berni coaches multiple Foot Locker Finalists, numerous state champions, and changed countless lives. For those who attended Blue Ridge Running Camp, she was a someone you saw every morning and enjoyed watching when she was on the camp's version of Family Feud.
