Waleed Suliman Turns Professional, Makes 1500m Final

Douglas Freeman alum and former Ole Miss runner, Waleed Suliman, has turned professional with Brooks as a sponsor. Not only has he turned professional this week but so far has made it thru two rounds of the 1500m run to qualify for the finals.

This year's trials have been a lesson on what it is like to race on the international stage in this event. What we mean by that is that the pace starts honest but controlled and then at the bell lap you are expected to run sub 52 to be in contention. Waleed, famous for his kicks back in high school thrives off of this style of racing.

Waleed will race in the finals Sunday at 7:40pm (EST).
