Clarke County expects to win their fifth Group A state title in the last six years if their Region B performance is any indicator of what to expect at the state meet on Saturday. Clarke County steamrolled their regional meet posting a perfect team score of 15 points and taking the first six places behind race champion Adam Owens (pictured above Ted Plunkett) in a time of 16:33. Owens is the top individual contender for the Group A state title and can join Ben Veilleux and Simon Biddle-Snead as the third boys individual state cross country champion in Clarke County school history. Clarke County averaged 16:59 as a team in their regional meet at Panorama Farms, which was a faster team average than all of the teams at the Group AA Region II Meet and all teams except for Mountain View at the Group AAA Northwest Region Meet both held last week as well at Panorama Farms.
