Nick Plant's unblemished in-state record for the 2022 outdoor season remained in tact following a pair of distance event victories achieved on Saturday at the 41st Annual Optimist Meet, hosted by Austintown Fitch.
Plant went 4:10.39 to establish a new meet and Falcon Stadium record in 1600 meter competition and notched an all-time Optimist best mark of 1:51.73 in the 800.
His latest efforts represent his seventh and eighth wins of his senior campaign. His lone race this Spring where he has not stood atop the podium was a third-place showing in the 1 Mile at last weekend's Penn Relays.
There, while taking on a host of fellow national talents, Plant clocked 4:07.57 to trail only PA-based stand-outs Gary Martin and CJ Singleton.
