Unlike many of the other events, there are just two throws events outdoors and one indoors. That means if an athlete were to be absolutely perfect, they could win 12 state titles in high school. When you factor in the missed outdoor season of 2020 you get 10 chances for a state title and she has a chance at winning 70% of them.
Entering the meet she is the favorite in the shot put with her season best of 47-7. She is leading the state by over six feet in that event and ranks US #12 in the event nationally.
Currently she sits at VA #7 all-time in the shot put and just on the inside of the top 20 all-time in the discus.
Though we expect her to make quick work of the shot put competition, it is in the discus where it could be a battle for the ages.
In the discus competition we will have Morgan Graham of Grassfield who has threw 154-6 this season which ranks her VA #3 all-time in the event.
