CHARLOTTE, NC -- Oakton senior Matt Maline just sent out a call to the rest of the Virginia runners...15:08.70. That is the time in which Maline ran at the 2000 Wendy\'s Cross Country Invitational held on the Foot Locker South course a.k.a. McAlpine Greenway Park in Charlotte. Just in the middle of the cross country season, Maline has ran a time that would almost every year automatically place you in the top 8 of runners that advance every year from the Foot Locker South Regional Meet onto the National Meet. He should definitely be a favorite to place in that top 8 when Foot Locker Regional Meet rolls along in late November.
Female counterpart and teammate Keira Carlstrom also had an excellent race, running a swift time of 18:11.16. Usually that would win a race at the McAlpine course, but she just happened to be running in the same race as the new meet record holder, Julia Lassiter-Lucas happened to be in the race. The Myers Park runner ran an incredible race as she finished with a remarkable time of 17:38.16.
