It was a historic race on the girls side with VA superstar, Allie Zealand finishing second in the nation. Her runner-up time was 17:04 which is five seconds faster than what Weini Kelati ran in 2015 when she won.
This race was a great exclamation mark on the end of Zealand's season but it does not fully show how dominant she was this season. Zealand tallied up seven victories, finished as an All-American at Foot Locker and NXN, and ran 16:34 which ranks as one of the fastest times ever in VA history.
Zealand was joined by three other Virginians. Reese Dalton (Covenant School) finished in 12th, Maddie Gardiner (Covenant School) finished in 15th, and Zoie Lamanna (Jefferson Forest) finished in 30th.
