W&M\'s Cathcart Named CAA Co-Runner of the Week

Honor Comes After First Collegiate Win for 2003 CAA Co-Rookie of the Year

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - William and Mary women's cross country sophomore Julia Cathcart (Starkville, MS) has been named the CAA Co-Runner of the Week, the conference office announced today. Cathcart, the 2003 CAA Co-Rookie of the Year along with teammate Meghan Bishop (Blue Bell, PA), won her first collegiate race this Friday at the Tribe's own Colonial Invitational. The 2003 All-CAA honoree clocked a 16:39 for the 2.89 mile course to lead four W&M runners across the line in a field that included harriers from Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth, Hampton, Norfolk State and Chowan in addition to the Tribe. Cathcart's victory propelled her split squad to the overall title as the equally divided W&M teams swept the top-two positions in the team standings. Cathcart shared Runner of the Week honors with Hofstra's Shannon Semski. Cathcart and the rest of the Tribe return to action on September 18th at Virginia's Lou Onesty Invitational in Charlottesville, VA.
