Maroon Junior is Second Roanoke Runner in as Many Weeks to Get Honor
SALEM, VA -- For the second consecutive week, a Roanoke College men's cross country runner has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Runner of the Week. This week it's junior Zack Tembi (Windsor, CT/Windsor) that garnered the honor. Tembi's accolades come on the heels of the honor received by sophomore Eric Johnson last week.Tembi ran a season-best 20:20 at the East Carolina University Invitational on Saturday morning to lead his team to a fifth place finish at the Division I meet. The only runners to finish ahead of Tembi in the race were Division I athletes, while the only schools to finish ahead of RC in the team standing were Division I programs. Tembi's time of 27:01 puts him in the top-five in this season's ODAC top-time category.
Tembi and his Maroon teammates are back in action this coming Saturday in the Division III state meet in Harrisonburg, VA. The Maroon men are looking for their fifth consecutive state title.
