Girls High Jump - Friday 12:00 PM
Eastern Region champion and state leader Keilah Tyson of Western Branch is the only athlete in the field to have cleared as high as the 5’8” this season. Primarily a short sprinter at Oscar Smith last year, Tyson has vastly improved in adding the jumps to her repertoire as a Bruin this year.
Her top challenger and only competitor above a clutter of athletes at 5’4” is Northern Region champion Dominique Graham (pictured right by Nicoll Knudsen) of McLean. Graham is the best track & field athlete from McLean High School in over a decade when James Small won a state title in the 1000 meter back in the year 2000. Graham has a season best clearance of 5’6” while most recently clearing 5’5” to win the Northern Region title.
