Every two years the VHSL reclassifies schools based on current enrollment numbers, this year begins a new two year cycle with a total of 18 schools moving. Of the 18 schools moving, 11 schools moved down and 7 schools moved up. By the numbers, out of the 24 regions 15 did not change at all.
The biggest change we saw this year was between class 5 and class 6 which accounted for 11 of the 18 changes. The biggest single change was Harrisonburg moving from Class 5 to Class 3, the only to jump two classifications.
