LEESBURG, Va. - Gainesville's Trent Daniels finally got his XC state title this weekend winning the VHSL Class 6 State Championship.
After three tries at it, a runner-up finish a year ago, and a staggering seven state titles on the track, senior Trent Daniels finally got his first cross country state title. Finishing just behind him was Will Fadden of Thomas Jefferson S&T with Trent's brother Gavin finishing in third.
The race itself was a tough one with mostly every runner running much slower than they did earlier on in the year the Oatlands Invitational but that is what is great about a Championship meet. It is only about winning and that is what Trent did.
It was quite an impressive finish though by Will Fadden, who was the Occoquan Regional champion, to finish second.
