The Blacksburg girls ran only a couple seconds off the outdoor state record with their 9:09.39 performance on Saturday at the Vince Bradford Relays in Lynchburg. In the same meet, the Nike Indoor Nationals 4xmile champion Blacksburg boys won the 4x1600 in 18:33 as well as dipped under 8 minutes in the 4x800 in 7:59.63. Atlee's Marques Atkinson ran a state leader in the 300 meter hurdles at 38.64 and Appomattox's Kenny Scott leaped to a #2 ranking in the state with his long jump mark of 22'6.25".
