Cole Boone Runs All-Time #2 2:21 1K Against Hocker & Teare

Pulaski County senior and Virginia Tech Commit, Cole Boone blazed another US #1 performance in the 1K this past weekend. This marks his second time running the 1K this season and his second national leading performance in the event.

At the Doc Hale Invitational, Cole ran unattached against some professionals and collegiate athletes to test his speed and get great competition. Cole held his own finishing in 2:21.37.

This was a great test for Cole and good experience running against some big names including Cole Hocker and Cooper Teare.

Interestingly enough, this time ranks US #2 all-time but is not his PR in the event. Last year at the Class 3 state meet he ran a national record 2:20.14 in the event. We will see if he races it again at states this year in an attempt to lower it once again and potentially be the first high schooler to dip sub 2:20.
