Bowman signs letter of intent with University of Tennessee

Interview by Jesse Hutcheson of Linktrack

WARRENTON, VA -- Sarah Bowman, the US#1 800 runner and the US#1 1500 runner last season as a junior, today announced that she will further her college career as a Lady Volunteer at the University of Tennessee.

LINKTRACK: Choosing a college is a tough choice, what drove you to Tennessee, and what other schools were you considering?
Sarah Bowman: The reason I picked Tennessee was that the coach is really good, and the girls are really nice, and I felt that they treated me well, I felt at home there. Also Coach JJ Clark is one of the best coaches in the nation in my event.
LINKTRACK: What other colleges were you considering?
Sarah Bowman: I took two official visits to Clemson and Tennessee, in between them I looked at the Virginia Division I schools but once I found Tennessee I knew I was at the right place.
LINKTRACK: Have you signed the letter of intent?
Sarah Bowman: Yes I signed the letter of Intent today in a small press conference at my school.
LINKTRACK: If you will, give us a description of Tennessee\'s campus life, team life and what really caught your eye?
Sara Bowman: It is very close too Knoxville, but the university sets off to its self, so it isn\'t really a city college, as for the team life, the girls seem to have a close knit team, on my visit they seemed to treat me not only as a recruit but as one of their own and this was a factor in my decision. Tennessee met all my needs, had a really good coaching staff, and is close to my boyfriend\'s college which is Clemson; Adam is a high jumper on their team.
LINKTRACK: What kind of scholarship did you receive from the University?
Sarah Bowman: I am on a full scholarship

Sarah, we at Linktrack give you sincere congratulations, and know that you will represent yourself, Virginia AA track and field and the University of Tennessee in top fashion. Good Luck, and let us only hope your college career is as amazing to watch as your high school career was. Thank you again from Linktrack.
