Girls 4x800 - West Springfield and Osbourn Park ran nearly identical times of 9:19 at the Penn Relays in April, while West Springfield has lowered their time by five seconds in their 9:14.74 Northern Region victory last week. Both relays feature two quality legs and All-State caliber runners in Foot Locker finalist Paige Kvartunas and Alex Watt for West Springfield while Osbourn Park has 1000 meter state indoor champion Ariel Karabinus and Northwest Region 800 meter champion Kayla Tyrrell. Traditional powerhouses and past state champions Lake Braddock and Midlothian also linger in the fast section with plenty of experience performing well on this stage. The Midlothian girls won the state indoor title in 9:20, while Lake Braddock will feature the state’s top freshmen distance runner in Sophie Chase.
