RICHMOND, VA -- The Atlee boys and girls cross country squads basically own the Capital District. Both squads won district team titles as neither squad had the individual district winner, but rather a "monsoon" of runners pouring in after the first place finisher.
After boys race winner Guy Alton of Varina finished in at 16:34.2 on the Dorey Park 3.08 mile course, it was all Atlee after that as they took the next 6 places and finished with a total score of 20 points.
The Atlee girls were given a little push from the Lee-Davis girls squad, but their depth as well was too strong for any team in the district to beat as they fit 5 runners in the first 8 places for a total score of 24 points.
