Anna Carpenter of Giles (19:06) and Ben Traynham of Floyd County (16:46) were the superior runners at the Maroon Tide
Invitational with convincing wins of a Single A class majority field. Carpenter set a new course record, but her efforts were
not enough for Giles to defeat Patrick Henry (61-65). The boys\' team title was a close race as Ashe County from North
Carolina won with 86 points as George Wythe and Floyd County both earned 88 points with George Wythe being bumped into second
due to the sixth man tiebreaker.
