Jones led a strong effort for the Green and Gold in the shot as the Tribe swept the top three positions with each athlete throwing for a season-best distance. Jones broke both the NCAA Regional and ECAC qualifying standards by throwing for a school-record 48'6" for the win in the event, a personal record by over a foot. The mark bested the former Tribe record of 47'7" set by Jeri Daniels set in 1982. Senior Cassidy Harris (Geneva, IL) claimed runner-up honors with a season-best effort of 44'4.5" while sophomore Jen Showker (Harrisonburg, VA) threw for a personal record 42'8.5" for third. Jones also won the discus with a distance of 120'5" as junior Liz Hager (Max Meadows, VA) claimed third with a distance of 113'11". Senior Charlotte LaRoche (Centreville, VA) won the pole vault after clearing 12'0.0", qualifying for ECACs, while sophomore Michelle Wolf (Hummelstown, PA) earned runner-up honors in the high jump with a solid effort of 5'0".
On the men's side the Tribe saw three solid efforts from its pole vaulters as junior Nathan Chubb (Doylestown, PA) and sophomore Justin Zamorski (Virginia Beach, VA) both cleared 13'6". Chubb was awarded fourth in the event on a judge's decision as Zamorski placed fifth with a season-high effort. Freshman Eric Sandridge (Mechanicsville, VA) also had the best outing of his young career, clearing 12'0" feet.
