WINCHESTER, VA -- Fauquier senior Sarah Bowman ran the nation\'s fastest time at 1600 meters this weekend at the John Handley Invitational in a time of 4:44.09. Bowman now currently has the nation\'s leading time in both the 1600 and 800 meter races. Bowman ran a 2:05.41 on April 8th at the Taco Bell Classic in South Carolina. Bowman will get a chance to improve upon her national leading time in the 1600 this upcoming week at the Penn Relays as she will be back at Franklin Field to defend her title in the mile race which she won a year ago in a time of 4:48.55.
The 16 runner field will include three fellow Virginians in St. Catherine\'s junior Katie Doswell, Oakton senior Danielle Light, and Potomac School sophomore Michaeline Nelson.
