VIRGINIA'S TOP MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS DISTANCE RUNNERS
(800m-3200m)
The outdoor season has begun and that means it is time for a quick look into the Middle School Rankings and seeing who are our current leaders. Their season will culminate with the VA Middle School State Meet on May 23rd.
800m Run
So far this season 90 girls have dipped under 3:00, 42 have dipped under 2:50, and only 12 have dipped under 2:40. Lakelyn Boles of Pacers Homeschool in the Lynchburg area currently leads the state is the closest to being the year's first girl under 2:32. With great weather forecasted these next couple weeks we could see one of them break it.

At this point in the season 23 girls have broken 6:00 and six have broken 5:40. Leading the way is Sienna Anderson who ran a fast 5:28.41 to be the only girl under 5:30 so far this outdoor season.

This is one of the few events where seventh graders are dominating the rankings. They hold three of the top five positions with an 8th grade (Cole) leading the way and in fifth (Avery). Beyond them, positions 6-9 are also all seventh graders.
