Liberty Men Tied For Third After Day One Of ECAC-IC4A Championships

Princeton, N.J. -- After day one of the ECAC-IC4A Championships Liberty's men stand tied for third place, while Brandon Hoskins and Danielle McNaney lead the decathlon and heptathlon.

Looking to qualify for the NCAA Championships, Hoskins currently maintains a 155 point lead, while Dan Newell stands in sixth place with 3308 points.

Josh McDougal placed second in the 5000m run in a time of 14:01.95, while Dan Royal also placed second, throwing 175'5 in the discus throw.

William and Mary lead the IC4A Championships with 25 points after day one. Iona recorded 18 points, while the U.S. Military Academy collected 16. Liberty has 16 points and Yale collected 11 to round out the top five.

On the women's side, McNaney retains a 156 point lead in the heptathlon, while Arlene Zelinskas recorded 2775 points for an eighth place finish.

The 2005 ECAC-IC4A Championships will resume tomorrow afternoon when the decathlon kicks off day two at 9 a.m.
